How it all began

“Her genuine care for others, her intellect, beauty, and love for friends and family make me fall in love with her again and again. ”

— Andrew

“We caught eye contact at one point and I was mesmerized by that addicting smile of his.”

— Lulu

Lulu and Andrew first met while they were both out with their groups of friends at a bar in the South Park neighborhood of San Diego. Even though each of them caught the eye of the other, they both mistakenly thought there wasn’t any interest from one another.

Later on, they found themselves on a trip together with mutual friends to Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans. Lulu picked up Andrew from the airport in Nashville and had a plate of authentic Nashville hot chicken waiting for him - you might say that it was at that point that Andrew knew Lulu was someone special! During that trip, Lulu and Andrew got to know each other and learned that they had a lot in common. Their love for family, travel, food, culture, reading and learning was so strong and they gravitated to each other from the get go.

After landing back in San Diego at the end of the trip to the American South, Andrew gathered enough courage to ask Lulu out on a date. During the trip, Lulu had previously mentioned that she was an adventurous eater and had wanted to try a Chinese delicacy called 100-year-old egg. This was the last thing Andrew would ever eat, but he did his research and found a place that served the compelling dish and got Lulu to come along. After braving the dinner, they went to see Shakespeare’s Hamlet at the Old Globe Theater. After enjoying the play together, they knew the connection between them was real. Five years later, they are best friends, true loves, and genuine partners in life. They are finally ready to make it official after their engagement in Paris!

And the rest is history…

Lulu and Andrew now live in the Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego and they enjoy every minute of it! Their love for travel has taken them to Mexico City, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Sedona, Hawaii, Japan, South Korea, France, Belgium, Switzerland and hopefully many more places to come! Their favorite thing to do is be with family and close friends, which they wouldn’t change for anything. Whether you find them strolling Main Street at Disneyland, taking in a JohnnySwim or Mana concert, watching a Star Wars movie, cheering on their Padres, Lakers and Club America, reading a good book at home, devouring xiaolongbao at Din Tai Fung, or just enjoying a carne asada with family, they are always excited to be with each other and surrounded by the love of their family and close friends.
